Focus At-Risk & Incarcerated Youth, Addiction/Alcoholism

After over a decade of homelessness, drug addiction, gang violence and incarceration, Sean Aaron Bowers has found transformation and redemption in the life changing practice of mindfulness meditation. Since getting sober in the mid 2000s, Bowers has devoted himself to a life of service. Since then he has co-founded Boston’s Dharma Punx group and volunteered at the Zen Peacemakers Symposium for Western Socially Engaged Buddhism. He has even had the honor of co-facilitating meditation retreats and workshops at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility, where he was incarcerated as a youth. Bowers specializes in working with the intersection of juvenile offenders, homeless youth and addiction, but celebrates any opportunity to be of service to any demographic of people.
