Leslie Booker


Booker is a facilitator, public speaker, consultant and yoga teacher.  She has shared the practices of yoga and meditation to incarcerated and detained populations in juvenile detention centers in NYC, on Riker’s Island and San Quentin Prison since 2007, and currently serves as the Director of Trainings for the Lineage Project.  Booker is committed to supporting the sustainability of those on the front lines and in direct service through workshops and retreats, and leads national diversity and social justice trainings to yoga teachers.  Booker brought Mindful yoga and meditation to the 2012 Democratic National Convention, and is a regular presenter at mindfulness conferences around the country.   She’s a graduate of the Mindful Yoga and Meditation training through Spirit Rock and is honored to be on Faculty for the 2014-15 class.  She will graduate from Spirit Rock’s Community Dharma Leader’s Training in the Spring of 2017.
