Amber Kelly, PhD, lives in New Haven, CT, where she has undertaken the position of Assistant Professor of Social Work with Quinnipiac University. She has a regular zen practice and is active in her local community in organizing for social, political, and economic change. Her practice, teaching, and research interests revolve around intervention work with survivors of violence, most specifically with incarcerated women. Most recently she has been in continued development and teaching of a trauma-informed, mindfulness-based modality for working with this population. Aside from these pursuits and spending time with her incredible kids, she also spends time running, quilting, starting political book groups, and practicing martial arts.
